Summit Fleet Supports the Inca Trek for Cancer

Summit Fleet Leasing and Management and the Mater Foundation have a strong, long standing partnership with a single shared goal – to do what we can to assist the community.

The Mater runs annual international sponsorship adventures. Over the last three years Mater Foundation’s international tours have raised more than $750,000 for research and patient care. The Inca Trek for Cancer in April 2015 aims to raise $200,000 to help fund Mater’s research team who are focused on improving the quality of life and treatment outcomes of men with prostate cancer.

This year, Summit Fleet’s very own Rimonda Harb is participating by taking on the Inca Trek for Cancer 2015 in support of the Mater Foundation.

“I have always wanted to visit Machu Picchu and to be able to do so whilst raising money for prostate cancer research is pretty special. Personally, I hope to raise at least $10,000 and really make a difference”

Summit Fleet Leasing and Management are getting right behind Rimonda and her goal, signing on as a sponsor for the trek, and providing hats for the entire team.

“Summit has been supporting the Mater since 1999 as they undertake their great work for the community. Having Rimonda participate in helping raise money for prostate cancer research brings it to the forefront, and we are once again excited to be supporting our long term partner.” said General Manager David Clinch.

Mater Foundation Chief Executive Officer Nigel Harris said the Inca Trail trek would be the trip of a life time.

“Participants will experience one of the most beautiful places in the world, complete an incredible physical feat, and help support prostate cancer research at Mater. We’re grateful to the amazing participants who have already signed up for the challenge.”

“Research is expensive but by participating or supporting the Inca Trail hikers, everyone can make a significant difference to lives of thousands of men and their families who will one day benefit from Mater’s research,” Mr Harris said.
